General Local By-Election 2022

Information for Candidates and Electors

The 2022 general local election for the Town of Lake Cowichan will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at upper Centennial Hall for eligible voters to elect the following:
  • One (1) Mayor for the Town of Lake Cowichan; and
  • Four (4) Councillors for the Town of Lake Cowichan.
  • Seven (7) School Board Trustees for the Cowichan Valley School District - School District 79.

Additional advance voting opportunities will also be provided for citizens prior to the General Election Day.


Completed nomination documents must be delivered to the Chief Election Officer, or designate at the Town Office at 39 South Shore Road, Lake Cowichan, BC. during regular business hours. The nomination period begins at 9:00 a.m. local time on August 30, 2022 and ends at 4:00 p.m. local time on September 9, 2022.


Late nominations will not be accepted
