Custom Programs Designed for You
Our staff is dedicated to helping visitors experience nature in a hands-on fashion, to develop an appreciation for the natural and cultural environment, and to understand the need for wise management practices to retain these assets for the use of future generations.
The resource staff at the Centre bring wonderful experiences and knowledge to our participants. All program options are customized for your groups needs and interests.
Some options are:
Wilderness Kayaking staff teach our participants the skills of lake and ocean kayaking and canoeing, teambuilding and wilderness survival and bring fun and challenging eco-adventure races.
Provincial Park Naturalists guide us as we explore the natural and human history of The Pacific Northwest with beach seines, estuary walks and field trips to Juan De Fuca Provincial Park; we hike along the Trans Canada Trail and into the Carmanah / Walbran Provincial Park and learn about the very unique Temperate Rain Forest of the West Coast.
Astronomy : Our staff entertains and informs our audiences with evening astronomy programmes exploring the stars and planets with talks and telescope.
Water Tubing: We ensure the safety of our groups as we tube down the Cowichan River and also lead excursions in their voyager canoes. Our guides lead our school groups and work with teachers to provide environmental education experiences to their students that can be taken back to the classroom and further explored.
Our aboriginal allies share traditional knowledge with hands on experiences, the unique world of First Nation’s natural and human history.
